Frequently Asked Questions

Most sponsors, whether holding an event for the first time or perhaps considering a change from one traveling carnival to another, have a number of questions about Russ Amusements. In an effort to better serve you we will attempt to answer some of the most common questions here. Please feel free to contact us with any additional questions or concerns that you may have.

How much will it cost to have Russ Amusements at our event?
Having Russ Amusements at your event will cost you absolutely nothing. In fact you will gain financially by contracting with us. We pay the sponsor a percentage of the ride revenue as well as a flat fee per concession. In exchange, the sponsor provides security, restrooms, parking attendants, etc. We view the arrangement as a partnership where both groups work together performing specific tasks to generate revenue for both parties involved.

Does Russ Amusements have insurance?
We are completely insured with two million dollars of liability insurance alone and have coverage on all food and game trailers, and commercial vehicles. In addition, the Pennsylvania Workmen’s Compensation Policy covers all Russ Amusements employees.

Do all rides have height restrictions?
Yes, all rides have some sort of restriction. We follow the manufacturers suggested restrictions on all rides. These restrictions are posted at the ticket booth and each individual ride.

Are we, the Boyers, always on site?
Yes, we are always the first to arrive and the last to leave. Any problems that arise can be brought to our attention and resolved immediately.

Do your employees live on site?
No, we transport all of our employees daily. All employees reside in Pennsylvania and are from the Greater York/Hanover area. Our international employees live at our winter quarters/shop facility.

Do you allow smoking by your employees?
No, employees can not smoke in company vehicles or while at work, except on break in designated areas.

Do you enforce a dress code for employees?
Yes, all employees must wear company provided uniforms. However, within those constraints we encourage individuality while not promoting appearances that most would deem inappropriate.
